IOWA SUPREME COURT’S OPINION OVERTURNING ABORTION PROTECTIONS
As you may have seen, the Iowa Supreme Court released a ruling on Friday regarding abortion. Essentially, it states that Iowa’s constitution does not protect a fundamental right to abortion (overturning the previous ruling in 2018), and it reinstates a law that the legislature passed a few years ago implementing a 24-hour waiting period before having an abortion.
The back and forth in the courts shows that we need the Protect Life Amendment; the people of Iowa cannot allow a future court to overrule them on a whim. I intend to fight this type of judicial activism in Iowa once I’m sworn in as your representative.
